About Robert Dittman
Texas attorney with a background in private practice, public service, administrative law, and public safety.
Robert D. Dittman has practiced law in Texas since 2013. His practice has included family law, criminal defense, civil matters, administrative disputes, contracts, and legal counsel for organizations and individuals.
Robert earned his Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio. While attending law school, he served as a legal clerk with the Child Support Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Texas, where he assisted attorneys with hearings, reviewed case materials, negotiated proposed agreed orders, and performed supervised courtroom advocacy.
Since entering private practice, Robert has represented clients in negotiations, hearings, bench trials, mediation, and administrative proceedings. His work has included legal research and writing, preparation of pleadings and motions, document review and drafting, evidence assessment, and advice concerning legal and regulatory matters.
Public Service
Public service has been a continuing part of Robert's professional life. He serves as a designated U.S. Coast Guard Legal Assistance Attorney, providing authorized legal assistance through the Coast Guard Legal Assistance Program. His Coast Guard service has also included training, emergency-management, communications, civil-rights, accessibility, privacy, ethics, and leadership responsibilities.
Robert has also served in public-safety leadership roles involving internal affairs, administrative investigations, policy development, regulatory compliance, personnel matters, and risk management. He currently contributes legal, governance, compliance, and risk-management support to a volunteer fire-rescue organization.
